There's a moment as you come around the point at Kirra where the whole world seems to open up to the horizon. The coast, the palms, the old surf club, Rusty the eagle keeping watch overhead. Life is good.
This is a painting of long beach days and picnic-dinner sunsets. Of dolphins coming in close to the shore break, kids on the sand, surfers out at the point, and slow morning walks along the bay. Of a little nook that's a total gem, and a joy to paint.
Look closely and you'll find the small things hidden throughout, little stories and locals like the Rainbow Lorikeets.
